The PGA Tour has set the dates for the second playing of the Myrtle Beach Classic.
Event organizers announced Monday afternoon that the tournament will be played May 8-11 at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
It's the same week as the inaugural tournament 鈥 the first PGA Tour event ever played on the Grand Strand 鈥撎齱hich was played this past May 9-12 and was won by Chris Gotterup.
鈥淵ear one exceeded our expectations, and the community is eager to see what is in store for year two,鈥 said tournament Darren Nelson of event operator SportFive in a press release. 鈥淲ith the backing of our title sponsor Visit Myrtle Beach and the support from our business community and public, Myrtle Beach has proven to be a great home for a PGA Tour event in just one year.鈥
The first-year event drew more than 40,000 spectators, organizers said, including more than 15,000 for the third round on a Saturday, and also featured two free concerts, corporate hospitality options, and a public Fan Zone between the听17th and 18th holes.
