Coastal Carolina will be staying home for its bowl game.
The Chanticleers have accepted an offer to play in the Myrtle Beach Bowl against the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
It's CCU's fifth consecutive bowl appearance. The Chants (6-6) became bowl eligible with a 48-27 win last week at Georgia State.
The Myrtle Beach Bowl will be played at 11 a.m. on Dec. 23 at CCU's home field, Brooks Stadium in Conway.
UTSA (6-6) went 4-4 in the American Athletic Conference and is 6-0 at home and 0-6 on the road this season.
Coastal and the Roadrunners have never played.
This will be the fifth playing of the Myrtle Beach Bowl. Appalachian State defeated North Texas 56-28 in the inaugural game in 2020, while Tulsa beat Old Dominion 30-17 in 2021, Marshall beat UConn 28-14 in 2022, and Ohio beat Georgia Southern 41-21 last year.
Tickets are available online at听. Both the stadium box office and will call will open at 9 a.m. the day of the game.
Coastal's roster in flux
Who will play for Coastal in the bowl game remains a bit of a mystery.
CCU has at least 21 players who have entered or announced they plan to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal as early as Monday Dec. 9, according to player social media accounts and/or .
They include starting quarterback Ethan Vasko, a redshirt sophomore, as well as star redshirt sophomore outside linebacker Clev Lubin, redshirt senior tight end Kendall Karr, redshirt senior quarterback Noah Kim, and junior cornerback Matthew McDoom.
Others in the portal include redshirt junior running back Simeon Price, a transfer from Mississippi State this year, redshirt junior defensive lineman Naejaun Barber, a transfer from S.C. State this year, and heralded freshman quarterback D.J. Moore, who is no longer on the roster after his arrest on Oct. 17 on charges of听simple possession of marijuana and carrying or displaying firearms in public buildings or adjacent areas, according to arrest records.

It is unclear how many portal entries will play in the bowl game. Last season some players who had entered the portal played in the Hawaii Bowl, while others sat out.
Several more CCU players are expected to announce their entries into the portal over the next few days. The fall portal period is 20 days and closes on Dec. 28.
Coastal is 2-2 in bowl games since 2020.
The Chants lost to Liberty 37-34 in overtime in the Cure Bowl in Orlando in their first ever bowl berth, spoiling an undefeated season.
They beat Northern Illinois 47-41 in the 2021 Cure Bowl, lost to East Carolina 53-29 in the 2022 Birmingham Bowl, and beat San Jose State 24-14 in last year鈥檚 Hawaii Bowl.
Chants earn all-conference

McDoom and Lubin were both named to the All-Sun Belt First Team Defense.
McDoom has three interceptions and has broken up 10 passes while also recording 36 tackles, including three for a loss of yards, and has recovered a fumble and returned it 24 yards.
