ESPN's SportsCenterÌýwill broadcast live from Coastal Carolina's campus on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 7.

Co-host Matt Barrie will be on campus from 2-3 p.m. ahead of the Chanticleers' 8 p.m. football kickoff against Appalachian State at Brooks Stadium that will air on ESPN.

Barrie will host from Conway while Christine Williams will co-anchor from the SportsCenterÌýstudio in Bristol, Conn.

Chanticleer fans and students are encouraged to attend Barrie's appearance, which will take place in Blanton Park in front of the Singleton Building.

Barrie's recent college campus appearances have been well-attended and energetic, as he has engaged with coaches, athletes, students and the schools' band and spirit programs, and shenanigans have inevitably become part of the broadcasts.

The idea to take ESPN's flagship sports news show on the road on Thursdays in advance of ESPN Thursday night college football broadcasts was born out of a production meeting. Barrie has since been to James Madison, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and UNC Charlotte over the past four weeks.

"I couldn't be more excited to welcome ESPN's SportsCenterÌýto our campus ahead of our game against App State," said Chance Miller, CCU's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation, in a university statement. "This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the energy of Teal Nation and the achievements happening across Coastal. I encourage all fans, students, faculty, and staff to come out and make history with the largest live SportsCenterÌýcrowd ever."

Coastal Carolina has hosted an ESPN show before, as College Gameday was live from Conway on Dec. 5, 2020, before CCU's 22-17 win over No. 8 BYU.
