Myrtle Beach pastor John-Paul Miller has been arrested and charged with third degree assault after an apparent confrontation with a protester across from his church in Myrtle Beach.

Miller was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 6, and had a bond hearing Thursday morning where bond was set at $776. A trial date has been scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Myrtle Beach Police Department spokesperson Randolph Angotti said he does not have any information to share about the incident since there is an ongoing investigation. My Horry 黑料社入口 has requested the MBPD incident report.

Protesters have picketed outside of Miller鈥檚 church consistently since the death of Mica Miller, John-Paul鈥檚 wife who had recently filed for divorce and a restraining order from John-Paul. Mica was found dead of a gunshot wound in Lumber River State Park in North Carolina, and the Robeson County Sheriff鈥檚 Office ruled the death a suicide. But some are skeptical of the Sheriff鈥檚 Office鈥檚 ruling and suspect foul play, leading to the protests outside of John-Paul鈥檚 church continuing for months.

A video posted to the social media platform Tik Tok by user melissapfeiffer3 shows John-Paul confronting a woman protesting across the street from the church. The video shows a protester following John-Paul and then shows him running toward the woman and standing close to her and putting his phone up next to her face. It is unclear whether there was any other confrontation or if this incident was the alleged assault.

The arrest comes two days after Miller and church workers were seen removing items from the church on Howard Avenue in Market Common on Tuesday, Nov. 5. It also comes less than a week after the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the home of Miller in the Azalea Lakes neighborhood.

The sign outside of Miller鈥檚 church has been stripped of its letters. And South Carolina Secretary of State business records show that Miller is the registered agent for a recently-incorporated business called Living Water Church at Market Common.
